So it's been a while.... a long while. I haven't updated because I feel like the last couple months have been pretty blah. Boo hoo, I know it's annoying. But.... as I was looking through some pictures of the last couple months (meaning post obtaining the nickname 'Brokeback Mountain'), I realized I made breaking my back look good! So I decided I will document my Brokeback Adventures. While I did have to slow down, my life didn't stop. I followed through, the best I could, with all of my plans that I had made previously. The first adventure/ event was a girls trip to New Orleans with my friend Carrie. Carrie is my childhood BFF who I have literally known for 20+ years. She got married and this was our "Bachelorette/ Last single girls trip". In no particular order, here was our trip in a nutshell.

Mmmmm, I love me some charbroiled oysters. We had all the best southern food.

The Transformer!!! As seen on American Idol. He really does roam the streets!

This picture makes me crack up! We were just walking around the French Quarter and this crazy was standing there. Perfect photo op of course. We sent this pic to her fiance letting him know what the two of us were up to.

But really we were just walking around enjoying the scenery.

And listening to some bluesy street jazz!

And finding my next boyfriend! If only I had brought my tambourine in my suitcase. Dang it!

And checking out St Anne's Cathedral.

And we took a stroll down the Mississippi River.

And went to a Voodoo Museum. Did you know Voodoo was invented in New Orleans?

And listened to more music and people watched. It really was people watching at it's best.

And of course we had a night out on the town! Carrie didn't wear any of that out. Funny though because I think New Orleans is the only place where she wouldn't have stood out!

Did I mention it was the first weekend of Marti Gras season??? This was Bourbon street. We were literally shoulder to shoulder! I may have gone through a whole thing of hand sanitizer in one night.

Luckily we found a balcony to hang out on for a bit. The humidity loves my hair, it's a Love/Hate relationship.

But this place ended up being our hangout for the night. AKA "The Cat's Meow". Best karaoke spot around. And probably the cleanest place on Bourbon.

Happy Marti Gras 2011
So that was my trip in a nutshell. It really was a great time all things considered. Had great food, great scenery, great company, and great music. The only thing that would have made it better is if I could have danced to that great music, but another time.
Where have I been? What, you broke your back?, Andrew came home? You got attacked by a cactus during a race?
ReplyDeleteI need to keep up. Please take care of yourself. I worry across the miles about the most accident prone person I know.
But you look happy and gorgeous in the pictures.
Love you,
Candice
