Finishing up 2010

Just for history's sake, I have to document the final months of 2010.

Roadtrip to Idaho
I was home from San Diego for 2 days before heading to Idaho. Heidi, Kirsten, Dad, and I drove to Idaho for the funeral of my cousins daughter. It was so nice to see my Walker cousins whom I haven't seen in so long, I just wish it was under different circumstances. I always love spending time with family, but came home with a greater appreciation for the family that I am a part of. I am so blessed to be a part of an amazing extended family. It was also fun to visit my dad's home town of Idaho Falls. This cute town holds a very special place in my heart. We joke that we are "half a 'ho".

Muddy Buddy
Two days after returning home from Idaho, I participated in a partner race known as the "Muddy Buddy". It's an offroad Mountain Bike/ Trail run race that is full of obstacles. Basically you have a partner and one of you is Mtn biking and the other is running, and you switch back and forth, with obstacles at each transition area. You finish the race by crawling thru a giant mudpit with your buddy. I can see this being an annual event. Except hopefully next year I won't get a jumping cactus in my leg during the fourth transition. Nothing like finishing a race with cactus needles sticking out of your shin. I love AZ!
Denise and I running to the finish line after crawling thru the mudpit. Got to love an action photo!

Muddy Buddies 2010!

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays! 2010 did not disappoint either. I started the day by running a 10K, then enjoyed lots of delicious food while spending time with the fam, then went and worked that night.
Turkey Trot 2010. Denise and I ran the 10K and Julie and Kirsten did the 2 miler.

My pies! This year I made strawberry rhubarb and oatmeal. I think they were the first ones gone.

Holden loving his Aunt Janet! I swear he really does like me though.

Carson loving on his Grandma!

I love this man! But seriously, could my dad be any cuter??? I don't think so.

Christmas 2010
This was the first time in four years that I didn't have to work Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. I had such a nice time not having to run off to work and was simply able to enjoy spending time with the ones that mean the most to me.
My white elephant gift at the Anderson family Christmas party! If you can't read the label it says John Wayne Toilet Paper "It's rough, it's tough and doesn't take crap off anyone". Thought it was funny enough to post.

Dad and Holden Clause on Christmas Eve.

Sisters! Heidi, Kirsten, Me, Lindsay, and Julie on Christmas Eve.

Christmas morning! Every year I get a present that I can take outside to play with the neighbor kids. This year I got a ripstick! Random, so did the eight year old neighbor! We had a great time riding together all morning.

Conclusion
What a great year 2010 ended up being. I feel like I have so much that I want to accomplish in 2011, but I am satisfied with how 2010 presented itself. After I do a race/ event, I put my bib on my fridge. Not all events give you a number, but the majority do. This is what my fridge accumulated in 2010. Hopefully 2011 will be a little more impressive. Happy 2011!!
