So where in the heck did the summer go? Unfortunately for me, I got to be a bum for couple months this summer. I had a serious wakeboarding wipeout that gave me a chest wall contusion and dislocated my fourth rib. It only hurt to breathe for a couple weeks, but I couldn't do much while the cartilage was healing. It was crazy obnoxious. But the worst part was that it was literally sticking out of my chest. I know, super cute. Even cuter, the pic that my dear sister Kirsten posted on facebook while we were in the emergency room. It was supposed to be just Kirsten coming and she showed up with an entourage for me.

Julie and Natasha were trying to share how sad they were that I was hurting, and I... well I looked like I hadn't slept in a week. Basically the day after the wipeout it hurt really bad to breathe or talk or move, so I went to urgent care to get an xray. They said I just had a chest wall contusion (bad bruise) and gave me some meds and told me to rest. Well, it got lots worse, and I ended up with a painful lump (right where my hair is covering). So I ended up going to the ER and that's when they told me that the lump was my rib, literally sticking out of my chest. Thankfully, it's finally back in place and I can wakeboard and run and swim again. I only have a little lump (scar tissue) left as a souvenir.
I'm glad you're feeling better!! Now you can come visit, right? Your trip to Mexico looks fabulous! Love you xoxo
